Cambodian pop, soul, folk and rock before the Khmer Rouge

A selection of tunes culled from Cambodian Rocks, Cambodian Cassette Archives, City Of Ghosts Soundtrack, Cambodian Psych Out, Electric Cambodia and a couple of other places I can no longer recall.

Anyone with a passing interest in this stuff will recognize the names of Sinn Sisamouth and Ros Sereysothea, king and queen of the thriving Cambodian scene of the 60’s and early 70’s. This is some great fuzzy twangy sugary fun which is only soured by the fact they were all slaughtered in Brother No.1’s killing fields. BBC Radio 4 had a decent programme broadcast in 2009 detailing this history called ‘Khmer Rock and the Killing Fields’, it’s unfortunately no longer available on iPlayer

Hope this floats yr boat Mr T.
